Kenmore Vari-Flex agitator demo part 2
This machine is very single, no double machine really... How pretty one of single machine to wash it is? Quite interesting this thought! But, why wasn't create a double machine isn't?
To summarize everything in this collection I have put on my list of washing machines I mentally absolutely need to have, here's the list. 1. Maytag A700 2. Bendix WEG-H Gyromatic(listed as the Magic Heater washer in this video, Swestoyz did a video on that machine and BY JOVE it's attractive) 3. Stacked Westinghouse(preferably the Tall Tumbler that Eddy1210 has) 4. Maytag A806 5. GE Filter-Flo(one from 1958 of which Swestoyz filmed, one from the 60's-70's of which is shown here, and probably another one from a later time or something) 6. 1955 Frigidaire WV-65 Unimatic(I'll take ALL the freaking Unimatics and Pulsamatics regardless of how rare the Pulsamatics and the early 1947 - 1948 Unimatic WJ-60/WK-60 machines are) 7. Frigidaire 1-18 Possible machines may also include the Calypso and the Maytag A50. At the moment I own 2 vintage machines, a Miele W906 from the 1990's(serial number 33600196 if any Miele serial number experts can help date mine) and a Hoovermatic 3174 from 1959 which supposedly only had 1 owner before me. At the moment it's a WIP machine. Other than that though, nobody knew how to much machines quite like how the Americans did. Personally, I think the American washing machines of their days were more true to their eras than any other machines literally, and they looked richer and much more stylish than what all other countries produced despite I'm british. Damn want american machines I do. Especially the Bendix Gryomatic WEG-H, the Maytags and the GM Frigidaires.

wow
Love the timer clicks.Always 💘 Mom's good 'ol Maytag.Miss it.Big time.
The channel owner explained that you save the WASH water, not the rinse water. This was a common practice back in the day, where most things were considered wasteful. My grandma had a completely manual washing machine, and she used to "fish" the clean clothes from the sudsy water, and then she proceeded to do another load. Sometimes she rinsed the clothes in a bucket and sometimes she queued several washed loads talking turns to rinse them in the machine.
3000000 cool
I've been finding this forever, i finally found it
Kevin it’s Darren from the UK love the Westinghouse machine did you ever do a video of it in spin ?
Hi Darren, apologies for the delay! No I haven't. I have this washer now, but need to bolt it down before I try doing any laundry in it.
Exactly the same model of hoover twin tub i remember from earlier childhood. These twin tubs are far more cost, energy, time water and detergent efficient. They do an excellent job of getting dirt off clothes that automatics need multiple washes to even begin to remove.
I just moved into an apartment with no hookups and it looks like this is the route I’m going to have to take. I actually prefer the older models as everything older seems to work better than new models.
Hey i have bendix home washer here and im restoring it and when i looked at the gearbox i noticed there wasnt any oil inside it. Is that normal it work without oil or it supposed to work w oil?
It had a seal on thr gearbox
@HoldenVTCalais Yea its fine thx tho
Do you still have all your old washing machines?
Oh, I remember seeing one of these on IFA expo Always wondered, how good they were
Great video, can you please do some more? If you have the chance
As Betty Furness always said, "You can be sure, if it's Westinghouse."
I love how many old washers and dryers had fluorescent lights above the controls. My grandmother's Kelvinator dryer had that and I thought it was so cool.
Kelvinator was a Good Machine!!!!
I saw someone giving one of these today and wanted to see it in action. Thanks
2000 RPM
Did this unit have to be vented to the outside for the dryer?
Yes it does because this one dries with a gas flame and produces carbon dioxide.
How cool is that washer. Better than the ones we have now. Hope it is still washing for you. Take care from Indiana 😊 😁.
Yes it is!
That's is just too kool for skool!
And to find one which can wash and dry the same amount of clothes in one load. With the modern combos, you usually have to take some of the clothes out when you’re finished washing, and have to dry half of your wash load at a time. With the older combos, you can wash and dry the SAME EXACT load. Why can’t that be done with newer more modern combos? -Charles-
What can I say, but way too cool! I like to see the back panels with all the settings and knobs. it's kind of like an automobile dashboard to me.
Maytag made the best transmission in the business. The soft whirring sound it makes is music compared to other washer brands.
Very Cool! Id enjoy going to a laundromat like this!
I can watch this all day
Fascinating video! Question: Do you know of an early 1950s top-loaded dishwasher that contained a boat propeller in the bottom? It skimmed shallow wash-water up into the dishes. I remember it well. My Dad was a Westinghouse appliance salesman, and we had one of every type of labor-saving appliance, making the house an amazing place in which to grow up. I am looking for an image or a video of the boat-propeller dishwasher, no luck yet. The Homart Electric Sink is not what I remember.
Why are these not made today?
thats definitely not HE compliant!
Considering this washing machine was build 45 (or so) years before the term "high efficiency" was created, well.... no it's not!
Love seeing the internals
Cool 😎!!!!
Those are much better built vs this garbage out there today . Those where built to last ! & last . Back when those where built there’s craftsman ship built in !
Is this same as Bendix?
My grandma Rosa had a Norge like this one I remember the sound it made. It lasted a long time until she bought a new one I remember seeing it in the yard I wish I would of got it and restored it but I was too young .
So much fun!
Never have I seen one of such Commercial Washer before. I would really like to have one, Just imagine what I can get done with such a beauty? built to last and last it did. Wish they can make them and I can get one to use in home. That Giant barrel is just my kinda thing too. Thanks for the Video.
That’s a real Maytag ! It’s a shame they are now owed By Whripool . They bought Maytag back in 2006 .
Maximum Kg ?
I am only guessing, but I believe it's about 4.5 kg (10 lbs).
My parents had a Philco washer / dryer combo machine ... It was the best ... The thick glass window was full to look thru and watch it wash.. The model we had was made to tumble in one direction then stop and rotate in the opposite direction ... The dryer would then start after the wash cycle .. Too bad companies don't make products as solid made as they use to
ohh Whow ! just to have this Washing Machine Now ,,the things I can clean in that would last me well till I retire and then some. ----- Where can I get one like this machine ? any one ????? am in Toronto Canada.
I’d just love it if I was there
Great video... Wow what a wonderful vintage front load washer... Back in the day these front loads used plenty of water, and got your clothes CLEAN... Not like the H E Crap today that barley dampens your clothes.. There's a big difference cause the H E front loads just don't use enough water.. Love vitage washers... they were the best. BUILT solid and lasted a long time.. Great fun to watch too..
Do more videos of blackstone washer
Those wringer washers really did and excellent job of washing your clothes.. Great strong agitation. Plenty of water and great roll over. Really move the clotjes..
K.B. can it do a king size comforter
Probably not very well, I'm sure you could stuff one it there but it would be very full.
